He is interested in global health systems and issues about implementation health systems around the world. He spent 4 weeks in Georgia during CIF winter internship program. Alex retails shortly about his professional interests and practical researh experience he had during the internship program. Drexel University also published a short story about Alex and his visit in Georgia.

    Lucia Callizzo, Macalester College, MN, USA and Laura Covarrubias, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health Care, MD, USA. Lucia and Lauara were participating in 2012 winter internship program at CIF. They share their internship experience.

    Within the internship program, Lindsay worked on HIV/AIDS and behavioral issues. She is contributes to the paper development, related to the study. She will be one of the co-othor of of the scientific article.

    Siyabonga is working towards Bachalor’s degree in Economics, concentrating in Global Health and International Development. His interests in health finance was directed to analize effects of the Global Fund withdrawal on HIV epidemic in several countries.

    Riccardo is a Bachelor’s degree student. He was intern in CIF through 2014 winter program. His main interest is Global Health and plans his future carrier in this direction. Ricardo shares his experience about internship program.

    the research project: Organization and Financing of Mental Health and Policy Aspects and in collaboration with CIF stuff, he contributed in a new paper development, about mental health problems in Georgia. Stuart shares his experience in the video.

  • Announcing Winter Internship Program 2016

    Curatio International Foundation invites Master and PhD international students to apply on Winter Internship Program. Through the program, students have the possibility to develop advanced research skills, meet leading experts in the field and become a coauthor of a scientific paper.

    For Winter Internship Program 2016, Curatio International Foundation (CIF) offers three different research topics:

    1. HIV/AIDS and Behavioral Issues
    2. Adherence to TB treatment
    3. Maternal and Child Health Research

    Applicants should submit a resume (the template is available below), cover letter indicating the selected research topic and supporting letter from the university or the working place.
    Interested students with good literature review OR quantitative analysis skills OR scientific paper writing skills will strongly benefit from participating in this program.
    Deadline for application is November 5, 2015. Notification about selection will be sent within one week period after the deadline.

  • თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროექტი

    პროექტი „თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსება“ განახორციელა საერთაშორისო ფონდმა „კურაციომ“ (საგრანტო ხელშეკრულება No: RFA-GC6-001-DT) დასავლეთ საქართველოში თემის მობილიზაციის ინიციატივის ხელშეწყობის პროექტის ფაგლებში. პროექტი განხორციელდა „ქეა ინტერნეიშენალის“ კავკასიის წარმომადგენლობის ადმინისტრირებით და აშშ-ს საერთაშორისო განვითარების სააგენტოს დაფინანსებით. საერთაშორისო ფონდმა „კურაციომ“ პროექტის განხორციელება დაიწყო 2003 წლის აგვისტოში და დაასრულა 2004 წლის აგვისტოში.

    თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროექტის მთავარი მიზანი იყო ჯანდაცვის ხელმისაწვდომობაში არსებული ბარიერების შემცირება სამიზნე თემების ღარიბი მოსახლეობისთვის თემის მიერ მართული ჯანდაცვის პროგრამების შემუშავების საშუალებით, რომლის ფარგლებში ხდება წინასწარ გადახდის საფუძველზე თემის ფინანსური რესურსების (ჯანდაცვისთვის განკუთვნილი) მობილიზაცია.

    საერთაშორისო ფონდმა „კურაციომ“ განსაზღვრა შემდეგი ამოცანები:

    12-18 მდგრად თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამის შემუშავება შერჩეულ გეოგრაფიულ ზონებში თემების და ადგილობრივი ჯანდაცვის პროვაიდერების მონაწილეობით;
    თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამების გამოყენება თემებში ყველაზე ღარიბი მოსახლეობის მოთხოვნების დაკმაყოფილების მიზნით;
    თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამების მართვის ადგილობრივი შესაძლებლობების განვითარება;
    თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამების მომავალი მდგრადობის უზრუნველყოფა.
    პროექტის განხორციელების დროს შემდეგი ნაბიჯები გადაიდგა:

    დასავლეთ საქართველოს 6 რეგიონში სიტუაციის შეფასება საწყის ეტაპზე;
    თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამის განხორციელებაში დაინტერესებული თემების განსაზღვრა;
    თითოეულ შერჩეულ თემზე მორგებული, თემზე დაფუძნებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამის შემუშავება ადგილობრივი თემების მონაწილეობით;
    შექმნილი პროგრამების წარდგენა თემზე დაფუძნებული ორგანიზაციისთვის სემინარების საშუალებით;
    თემის წარმომადგენელი ჯგუფების და ჯანდაცვის პროვაიდერების ტრენინგის საჭიროებების განსაზღვრა;
    ტრენინგის მასალების მომზადება თემებისთვის და ჯანდაცვის პროვაიდრებისთვის მათი საჭიროებების მიხედვით;
    ფონდის მენეჯერების და ჯანდაცვის პროვაიდერების ტრენინგი;
    თემზე მორგებული ჯანდაცვის დაფინანსების პროგრამების განხორციელების დაწყება 8 სამიზნე თემში.

  • Regional High Level Dialogue 'Road to Success', Tbilisi, Georgia

    On September 28-30, 2015 Regional High Level Dialogue took place in Tbilisi, Georgia on Successful Transition to Domestic Funding of HIV and TB Response in EECA. The 320 delegates from 31 countries have agreed to work together in creating and implementing national transition plans from donor to national funding of HIV and tuberculosis (TB) response as well as ensuring the accountability of all stakeholders in the implementation of these plans. High-level ministerial representatives of the EECA countries, international donor organizations, and civil society activists have concluded the event by adopting the resolution on shared responsibility and partnership ensuring the prevention and care of HIV and TB in the EECA region.

    The event was hosted by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and organized together by Eurasian Harm Reduction Network (EHRN), The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC), UNAIDS and World Health Organization (WHO) acting as the event co-organizers, and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and World Bank as supporting agencies.

    Among other speakers at the Dialogue Ketevan Chkhatarashvili, president of the Curatio International Foundation has presented findings and reccomendations of  a study: Transition fromTGF support and programmatic sustainability in four EECA countries. The Study was funded by The Global Fund and implemented by CIF in: Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia and Ukraine.

  • მოლდავეთში რუტინული იმუნიზაციის პროგრამის ღირებულების და ახალი ვაქცინის დასანერგად საჭირო ფინანსური რესურსების ანალიზი

    2012-2014 წლებში საერთაშორისო ფონდმა კურაციომ განახორციელა კვლევა, რომლის მიზანს მოლდავეთში რუტინული იმუნიზაციის პროგრამის ღირებულების და ახალი ვაქცინის დასანერგად საჭირო ფინანსური რესურსების ანალიზი წარმოადგენდა.

    კვლევა უფრო მოცულობითი კვლევის ნაწილია, რომელიც მიზნად ისახავდა ექვს სხვადასხვა ქვეყანაში (მოლდოვეთი, ბენინი, უგანდა, ზამბია, განა, ჰონდურასი) რუტინული იმუნიზაციის პროგრამის ღირებულების შეფასებას. კვლევა ჩატარდა Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-ის ფინანსური მხარდაჭერით.

    კვლევის შედეგად მიღებული ინფორმაცია ხელს შეუწყობს: ა) ქვეყანაში იმუნიზაციისთვის საჭირო ფინანსური რესურსების დაგეგმვის გაუმჯობესებას, ბ) ქვეყანაში რუტინული იმუნიზაციის პროგრამის ეფექტური განხორცილებისთვის აუცილებელი ფინანსური რესურსების, იმუნიზაციის სერვისების მიწოდების და ახალი ვაქცინის დანერგვასთან დაკავშირებული ხარჯების გააზრებას გ) ახალი ვაქცინის დასანერგად, იმუნიზაციის გლობალური ალიანსის (GAVI ) არსებული პოლიტიკის/პროცედურების განახლებას.

    ჩვენი კვლევის შედეგები იძლევა მნიშვნელოვან ინფორმაციას მოლდავეთში ახალი ვაქცინის დანერგვის ფინანსური ხელმისაწვდომობის და იმუნიზაციის ეროვნული პროგრამის ფინანსურ მდგრადობის შესახებ, რომელიც GAVI-ის მხარდაჭერის დამთავრების შემდგომ პერიოდშია მოსალოდნელი.
