    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]ტუბერკულოზი კვლავ საზოგადოებრივი ჯანდაცვის მნიშვნელოვან გამოწვევად რჩება მსოფლიო მასშტაბით. მკურნალობაზე ცუდი დამყოლობა აფერხებს ქვეყნების ჯანდაცვის სისტემებს მიაღწიონ მკურნალობის სასურველ გამოსავლებს და შეამცირონ დაავადების გავრცელება საზოგადოებაში.

    2016 წელს საერთაშორისო ფონდმა კურაციომ ჩაატარა თვისებრივი კვლევა რეზისტენტული ტუბერკულოზით დაავადებულ პირებში მკურნალობაზე დამყოლობის ბარიერებისა და ხელშემწყობი ფაქტორების შესასწავლად. მიმდინარე კვლევის ფარგლებში ჩვენ შევისწავლეთ მკურნალობაზე დამყოლობის ფაქტორები რეზისტენტული ტუბერკულოზით დაავადებულ პაციენტებს შორის საქართველოში. კვლევამ გამოავლინა სხვადასხვა ფაქტორები, რომლებიც გავლენას ახდენენ მკურნალობაზე დამყოლობაზე რეზისტენტული ტუბერკულოზით დაავადებულ პაციენტებში. შედეგები დაჯგუფებულია სტრუქტურულ, სოციალურ, პერსონალურ და ჯანდაცვის სისტემურ ფატორებად კვლევის კონცეპტუალური ჩარჩოს მიხედვით. კვლევამ წარმოაჩინა რომ ტუბერკულოზის მკურნალობის დამყოლობაზე მოქმედი ფაქტორები ერთმანეთთან მჭიდროდ ურთიერთქმედებენ.

  • Barriers and Facilitators to Adherence to Treatment Among Drug Resistant TB Patients in Georgia

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tuberculosis is a global challenge to public health throughout the world. Poor adherence to treatment remains a significant problem that prevents countries from obtaining high treatment success rates that is essential for health systems to control the epidemic and decrease spread of the disease.

    In 2016 Curatio International Foundation conducted a qualitative study to investigate factors that enhance or hinder treatment adherence among Drug Resistant TB patients (DR-TB) in Georgia. The study revealed different types of factors affecting treatment adherence among DR-TB patients and grouped them into structural, social, personal and health system factors according to the study conceptual framework. The study made it clear that all factors are closely interlinked and mutually influence each other.

    The study provides evidence that may help policy-makers develop effective strategies for improving treatment outcomes among DR-TB patients. The study findings might be helpful for other countries in the region where TB burden is also high.

    We attract interns from around the world, who are interested to have the first-hand experience in the real-life setting and to contribute to the research projects implemented by CIF.

    Master and PhD students from around the world are invited to apply and use the possibility to develop advanced research skills, meet leading experts in the field and become a co-author of a scientific paper. We offer two research directions:

    1. Tuberculosis in Primary Health Care
    2. Measurement of the Quality of Care

    ჯანდაცვის სფეროში მიმდინარე გლობალური ცვლილებების ფონზე, როცა დონორი ორგანიზაციები ფინანსურ რესურსებს საშუალო შემოსავლის მქონე ქვეყნებიდან ღარიბი ქვეყნების გასაძლიერებლად მიმართავენ, განსაკუთრებით მნიშვნელოვანი გახდა HIV და ტუბერკულიოზის სახელმწიფო პროგრამების მდგრადი განხორციელება.

    გარდამავალი პროცესის წარმატებას ხშირად ქვეყნების მდგომარეობის ობიექტური შეფასება განაპირობებს, რომ განისაზღვროს რა სირთულეები არსებობს ქვეყანაში და დაიგეგმოს საპასუხო აქტივობები, ქვეყნის გასაძლერებლად.

    ამგვარი შეფასებისთვის საჭირო გახდა შექმნილიყო გარდამავალი მზადყოფნის შეფასების (TPA) ჩარჩო დოკუმენტი, რომელიც 2015 წელს შეიქმნა საერთაშორისო ფონდი კურაციოს მიერ, გლობალური ფონდის ფინანსური ხელშეწყობით და ასევე განხორციელდა პილოტირება აღმოსავლეთ ევროპის 4 ქვეყანაში: ბელორუსი, ბულგარეთი, საქართველო, უკრაინა.  სამუშაოს ფარგლებში სტანდარტიზებული  გზით შეფასდა ოთხივე ქვეყნის მდგომარეობა და გამოვლინდა მნიშვნელოვანი მსგავსებები. აღნიშნული მიგნებები  წარმოდგენილია სინთეზის ანგარიშში. ასევე სამი ქვეყნის შეფასება ხელმისაწვდომია PDF ფორმატში.

  • Transition Preparedness Assessment

    Sustainability of national HIV and TB programs gains importance in light of recent changes in the global health landscape when external funders are redirecting resources to poorer states while phasing out from middle-income countries.

    Objectively evaluation of the country transition readiness is a key in the transition process. With this aim in 2015, Curatio International Foundation developed a Transition Preparedness Assessment (TPA) Framework with the Global Fund financial support and piloted in four Eastern European countries Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine.

    The country Case Studies present findings in a standardized way that enable country stakeholders to prioritize areas that need most attention during transition planning and implementation. In addition, the assessment findings are useful for the donors to guide the country in the transition process. These countries share important similarities that are presented in the Synthesis Report. The three countries case studies are also downloadable below.

  • New Study Findings About Tuberculosis

    Curatio International Foundation together with the Partnership for Research and Action for Health organized a meeting at the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health on 26th of December, where two different study findings were represented. Studies aimed to reveal Referral Delay from Primary Care facilities to specialized TB centers and Health System Factors Affecting Adherence to Tuberculosis (TB) Treatment in Georgia. The project was implemented by financial support of the TDR,  the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, hosted at the World Health Organization (WHO).

    CIF prezented qualitative research findings about adherence to Drug Resistant TB treatment and led discussion around the findings – what can be done to improve treatment adherence among TB patients, looking through health system lens. The study report will be available by the end of January, 2017.

    CIF inventorised all civil society organizations (CSO) working on Tuberculosis issues in Georgia, with the financial support of Stop TB Partnership through the CFCS round 7.  In the frame of this project TB CSO informational directory has been developed which is available here.

  • ტუბერკულოზის თემას ორი ახალი კვლევის შედეგი შეემატა

    საერთაშორისო ფონდი კურაციოსა და პარტნიორობა ჯანმრთელობის კვლევისა და განვითარებისთვის ორგანიზებით 26 დეკემბერს დაავადებათა კონტროლისა და საზოგადოებრივი ჯანმრთელობის ეროვნულ ცენტრში ტუბერკულოზის თემისადმი მიძღვნილ შეხვედრაზე აუდიტორიას გაეცნო ორი ახალი კვლევის შედეგები.  კვლევები  ტუბერკულოზის  გამოვლენის და მკურნალობაზე დამყოლობის სისტემურ ფაქტორებს იკვლევს. პროექტი მსოფლიო ჯანმრთელობის ორგანიზაციასთან არსებული ტროპიკული დაავადებების კვლევითი ცენტრის (WHO/TDR) ფინანსური მხარდაჭერით განხორციელდა.

    ფონდმა იმსჯელა რეზისტენტული ტუბერკულოზის მკურნალობაზე დამყოლობის თვისებრივი კვლევის მიგნებების შესახებ, რომელიც ანგარიშის სახით იანვრის ბოლოს გახდება ხელმისაწვდომი.

CIF experts will discuss several important health system-related issues and share particular knowledge with a global audience.     ‘Enhancing Health Systems and Sustaining Public Health Gains While Preparing for the Transition from Donor Funding’

    A satellite session will be hosted by The Global Fund and the Curatio International Foundation.

    The session will discuss the changing landscape in development assistance for health-related issues for some countries, which has resulted in reduced or terminated donor funding for critical programs like immunization, TB, HIV,  malaria. The session participants will deliberate over how to sustain the public health gains achieved over the past decades through enhancing health systems during the transition period.

    The session will capture the perspectives of donor representatives, researchers and country stakeholders. Participants include Joseph Kutzin and Susan Sparkes from the World Health Organization, Ajay Tandon from the World Bank, Janis Timberlake from PEPFAR, Deborah Kaliel from USAID, Sara Bennett from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Jean-Olivier Schmidt from GIZ, Michael Borowitz from the Global Fund, Donald Pardede from the Ministry of Health of Indonesia, Maureen Lewis from Aceso Global, Tamar Gabunia from CCM Georgia.

    CIF Research Unit Director Ivdity Chikovani will present the Transition Preparedness Assessment Tool, which was developed by CIF to measure a country’s readiness for a smooth transition.
